Central Indiana Board Chair Summit

The core constituencies and clients of nonprofit organizations in our community can be better served if the organizations are led effectively. The Boards that direct these organizations are faced with many challenges, including financial management, planning, fund development, measuring results, and issues of accountability. In addition, these boards are often afflicted with member apathy, ineffective meetings, lack of focus, and many other concerns.

Why I'm Excited to be Part of ILA!

Hello!  I wanted to share my excitement at becoming a member of the ILA Board of Directors in August.  During my years as an ILA  member I attended several seminars.  The most recent, Suzanne Morse, Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build  a Brighter Future  seminar at Franklin College.  I was so inspired I purchased the book and presented a copy to our Mayor in Greencastle.

Appreciative Inquiry Training Opportunity

The Appreciative Inquiry (AI) perspective is based on the insight that individuals and organizations get superior results from appreciating strengths, assets, and high point experiences instead of focusing on weaknesses and problems. Based on the work of Cooperrider and Srivastva at Case Western Reserve in the 1980's, AI has quickly grown to become one of the most powerful concepts in organizational and individual change.

Attached is the latest version of the ILA Regional Grant guidelines.  I am looking forward to receiving applications from the various regions, so we can put some of the ILA funds to work in supporting collaborative efforts in the regions that will further the work of leadership development across the State.

What do you bring to the table?

This website and the ILA is about sharing leadership ideas and resources. There are many great community leadership training programs in Indiana; there are many talented and experienced trainers here; there are many wonderful organizations that have leadership best practices in this state; there are many websites and links that need to be shared. But how do we know where they are, who they are, and how do we connect to them? This website should help.
I ask, "what do you bring to the table?" To get the information flowing, I'll begin.
