About Me:

Holly Hodges is a servant-leader who brings passion and excitement to all areas of work and life. A solid business background provides the foundation for her to now explore using her proven strengths in the areas of accounting and finance.   Her leadership of teams and initiatives, whether large or small in scale, has been sought by her company in several conceptual projects and challenges where she has been instrumental in their success.

In her years of accounting and finance with Accountemps, That’s Good HR, Steak ‘n Steak, and Raytheon, Holly has sharpened her analytical and organizational skills. She learns quickly and is able to interpret at both macro and micro levels. She is then able to communicate that information to others, whether it is to those with extensive financial knowledge or those who only need a basic explanation. Her understanding of the importance of building liaison relationships with a variety of associates at different levels of the organization makes the exchange of information more personalized and, in turn, effective.

Holly’s involvement with the Development Council at Steak ‘n Shake demonstrates her versatility and ability to take charge. What began as an idea passed down to her by senior leadership has blossomed into a motivated team project. She guided the selection of council members, the creation and maintenance of the governance, the quarterly community involvement projects, and the facilitation of quarterly professional book discussions. Through this process, she helped provide opportunities for the development of employees not in traditional positions of leadership to gradually gain skills.

The idea of giving more power to those whom she leads is essential to Holly’s professional and personal approach to leadership. While in college, she was on the traditional public accounting career path. Through the introduction of servant-leadership, she began to reflect on her career motivations, and she now has been on this journey for over ten years. She plays an instrumental role in implementing servant-leadership principles and practices in the workplace and in the Indianapolis community.

Holly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also Six Sigma Certified, which adds to her project management qualifications. She serves as president of Help One Love One—a nonprofit providing nutritional needs to adults with Cystic Fibrosis. She is also a committee member of the annual Irvington Historical Society Awards Dinner, as well as the organizer of teams of volunteers for various non-profit organizations.

“Everything about a room full of strangers excites me. Whether I am speaking in front of the group or conversing one-on-one, I know I will grow from the encounter because being inspired by others is my definition of what makes us human. My life has been a series of connected dots because of my willingness to open myself to new people and experiences.”
